At the tender age of eleven, I found myself in the frosty embrace of London, shielded from the biting cold by my bustling mother. The towering buildings and bustling streets were a stark contrast to the close-knit village I had left behind in Ghana. Little did I know that this chapter of my life would unfold a story of love, resilience, and a return to my roots. Separated parents and the solitude of London left me feeling like an only child, yearning for the warmth of my extended family in Ghana. Despite the initial loneliness, my father’s visits and shopping sprees in the West End brought moments of joy. The transition to Haggerston Secondary School marked the beginning of my secondary education in a single-sex environment, a change I embraced with curiosity.
