To my dear siblings—Esi Bentsiwah, Kow Nyan, Kow Yeboah, and Maame Gyamah—though distance separates us in Cape Coast, Winneba, Accra, and even Italy, our bond remains strong and unshakable. I thank God every day for each of you. I also remember my family who have passed on, especially my mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. Their love and guidance shaped me. I feel their presence every day and remain grateful for the support they gave me, particularly my mother during my pregnancies. She would come to stay, care for my little ones, and teach me about patience, faith, and family. The biggest influence in my life was my grandmother. Her strength and discipline inspired me. She made sure all her daughters were educated despite limited resources. She lost her husband when my mother was just four and raised five girls on her own. She was a trader, selling various goods, and though life wasn’t easy, she ensured we never went hungry. I also learned a great deal from my aunt, with whom I lived for much of my teen years. She was a role model in marriage and in managing a home and family. Despite the challenges she faced, she always showed patience, generosity, and grace. She welcomed everyone into her home with warmth, taught me the value of tolerance, and showed me how gratitude and kindness can shape a family. Life has not always been easy. Sixteen years ago, when I faced my first serious health challenge, I had to trust God completely. I did, and He carried me through. The love and support of my family made all the difference. These days, I am taking things easier, enjoying my grandchildren, and helping out in the church. I use my time to encourage others, and if anyone wants to talk, I am always ready to listen and offer advice. To my first family, my husband, my children, my grandchildren, my best friends, school mates, church family, and everyone who has shared this journey with me—thank you. You have made my life richer, brighter, and full of love. Seventy-one years have been a gift, and every day, I remain thankful. — Mrs. Jay 46 The Birthday Journal
