Happy birthday, Monica. We thank God for your life and for 50 years of His grace. It’s been, well, probably over 20 years since we met in London, Ontario. And, of course, in Calgary, there have been years of get-togethers, good times, and, naturally, arguments. After more than 20 years, I finally concede—you’ve won, Monica. You’ve won the arguments. Happy birthday, Monica! We thank God for this milestone. My prayer for you is that God will continue to guide you and lead you into the purpose for which He brought you to this earth. I also pray for divine health and peace for you and that you continue to seek the Lord and His guidance for the rest of your life. God bless you, and happy birthday again! Kweku Odei If I have to choose what I love about you, it’s your genuine kindness that gets me every time. We met thirty years ago when we started our bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering together in Ghana. Although we were in the same class throughout our undergraduate years and even lived in the same city during school breaks, we weren’t close friends then. Our real friendship began when we later met at Western University in London, Ontario, for our graduate studies. I got to observe up close your brimming confidence and tenacity. Imagine doing graduate studies in engineering while carrying a baby to full term without taking any time off. You used to take these power naps in the middle of the day, and I would joke that you were doing graduate studies with your eyes closed. You completely won my admiration with your determination during those days. Welcome to the golden decade, MONICA! I believe by God’s grace and your hard work, you already have the career thing down. My wish for you in the next decade is great health, peace of mind, and enjoyment of family. May you continue to attain new heights and break new boundaries to the glory of God. Happy Birthday! Francis This photo speaks volumes that only I can truly understand, coming from a deeply grateful heart. Happy 50th Birthday, Monica! As I always say, you’re like both a mother and daughter to me. You share the same name as my mother and the same birthday as my daughter, Adoma. Today and always, I wish you all the abundant blessings I wish for them. Mansa Agyare Monica!!! What a blessing you are to us all. I hope you have a fantastic birthday filled with joy, love, and laughter. You deserve all the happiness in the world, and I wish the years ahead bring you everything you dream of and more! Happy 50th birthday, Star!!! May your light continue to shine brightly in all our lives. ❤❤❤ Nana Annan The Birthday Journal 57
