I’ve known Yaa Yaa, as I affectionately call her, for too long to remember. She has always been a dependable aunt to me and a dear friend to my parents. She supported my mum when Dad passed, and that meant so much to us. One of my favourite memories of her is her saying, “Normal”—just ask her! Her positive words on marriage have also touched my life in a meaningful way. She is always trying to be as young as us; she is truly young at heart. I can’t think of any misunderstanding with her. Three words that best describe her are beautiful, dependable, and supportive. If I could thank her for just one thing, it would be for always being there when you need her. Thank you, Auntie, for your support when Dad passed. Auntie, on this special milestone, may God continue to bless and order your steps. Eighty years of God’s grace and favour—enjoy your special day. We all got to knowAuntieMonica very quickly through her frequent visits to campus and our visits to their home, which became a home away from home for us. “Oh Saa?” is a phrase that I remember AuntieMonica often saying. She also always refers to us as her mum and dad because of our names—Serwaa and Steven respectively. There are several memories shared with AuntieMonica, but one memorable moment was when I needed a mother figure in my life and AuntieMonica stepped up. I will never forget the kindness she showed to me during that period. AuntieMonica, thanks for being there for us when we needed youmost. Your kindness will never be forgotten. As you celebrate this milestone, may the Good Lord continue to shine His face upon you and grant you favour, grace, good health, peace, and all that you wish for yourself, in Jesus’ name!
