I have known AuntieMonica since I was a child, and she has always been a mother figure in my life. She is an extremely caring woman, touching lives in countless ways and offering support and comfort to many. Whether in times of mourning or rejoicing, she is always present, quietly making a difference. She has an unacknowledged ministry of touching lives where and when it matters. She is caring, loving, and a matchmaker! I am grateful to her for being someone with such a generous heart and for her kindness. One of my fondest memories is her love for salad. That is the only time that I have seen her unwilling to share with her friends. The way she would try to keep it all to herself while her friends protested always brought laughter and fun— it showed her playful side! AuntieMonica has also touched my life through her continuous support for our family, especially for my mum, AuntieMaggie, in moments when she needed a friend. I have never had a misunderstanding with her; all my interactions with her have been positive and inspiring. AuntieMonica, happy 80th birthday! I thank God for your life and for allowing me to be part of your journey. I join your children, friends, and family in celebrating this milestone. May you always experience the love you have so generously given over the years, and may God bless you with peace, joy, good health, and long life. AMEN. Freda Manful You are the shining light at every family gathering, the joyful laughter that fills the room, and the loving heart that unites us all. Words cannot express howmuch you are cherished, and today we celebrate the remarkable woman who brightens every moment. May God’s love surround you now and always. May His grace bring peace to your heart, and may His light guide you through each new chapter in life. We pray that this year blesses you abundantly with good health, happiness, and endless reasons to smile. You are truly a blessing to us all. Your faith, joy, and warmth inspire everyone around you. Wishing you a day overflowing with love, laughter, and all the happiness your beautiful heart deserves. With all our love, Happy Birthday, AuntieMonica! Thank you for being there for all of us! Owa’s Children (Tesano) HappyBirthday tomy dearest AuntieMonica. It’s hard to celebrate you without being there, but we are celebrating the incredible life you’ve lived and the immense love you’ve shared over your eight decades so far. You were always more than an aunt to me. I remember being a boisterous seven-year-old who knocked my eye socket on the corner of a coffee table. There was blood everywhere, and my parents were not at home. I was rushed to your home on Akuroso Road by our house help, Adwoa (circa 1972/73). AuntieMonica, you quickly rushed me to KNUSTHospital, where I received a few stitches. You wereMaa’s best buddy from your youth and were like sisters when she was alive. I’m sure that if she were here with us, she would have celebrated your 80th birthday with you in style. Since Daa andMaa passed away, you have continued to be so supportive. Any time I come to Kumasi, visiting you is a must, because you are such a great mum. You’ve made such a difference to me, George, and Georgina, and we will always be grateful to you. We love you dearly. Happy 80th birthday, Auntie Yaa Yaa Your son, Papa Gyamfi (William Asamoah Jr) 86 The Birthday Journal
