Monica 80 Magazine

SisMonica (as I call her) and I met over thirty years ago in Kumasi. From that very first moment, we bonded deeply, and that connection has only grown stronger over time. She calls meMaame, which I love so much. She is a woman of remarkable patience. She always has time for people, offering wise counsel, supportive prayers, and a calming presence — especially for someone like me, who can be quick-tempered. One of the funniest moments was when we travelled together through the thick forests on public transportation to Akim Oda for a funeral. The journey was filled with so many fun conversations. In all these years, there has never been a real conflict between us. She takes the time to verify words and intentions, turning potential misunderstandings that might otherwise have harmed our friendship into moments of understanding and trust. I admire her ability to resolve things amicably. Her patience and virtue have touched my life profoundly and have preserved and strengthened our friendship. She is so caring, thoughtful, and full of fun. I am deeply thankful for her kind and loving nature. I wish her abundant blessings in all her endeavours. I pray she continues to hold fast to her faith and her joy for singing, and that she lives to be 98, just like my mother. Much love, Milan Ofori Yaa has been a friend and sister for over 4 decades. She has been very supportive and easy to be around. Yaa, we thank the Lord for bringing you this far. We will continue to bless His name. As you celebrate your 80th, I wish you nothing but pure joy, love, happiness, and good health. May God continue to bless you. Love, Adwoa Bonsu The Birthday Journal 55
