I had the pleasure of meetingMonica many years ago at Academy of theMost Blessed School in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, where my daughter was attending and her grandchildren were too. I call herMonica — a beautiful name that suits her perfectly. Monica is fashionable, sophisticated, and kind. Monica is a wonderful woman— her happiness and spirit are contagious! She lights up a room and is always authentic, carrying herself with grace in a way I deeply love and admire. I’ve had the joy of welcoming her to my home several times, including at my daughter’s graduation party, and each visit was filled with laughter and warmth. She also graced my youngest daughter with her presence at her First Holy Communion. I am grateful and thankful for her friendship and the joy she brings into my life. One lesson I’ve cherished fromMonica is how she reminds us to pause and connect with nature — like taking your shoes off and standing on the grass to feel grounded during chaotic times. She has a laugh that is infectious; I still smile thinking about the time Agnes, my daughter, and I FaceTimed her during lunch, and she stayed in the dark rather than bother turning on the light! Happy birthday, Monica! What a blessing it is to have 80 beautiful years under your belt, and many more to come! May God continue to bless you with good health, happiness, and that beautiful spirit that touches so many. The Arias Family I first met you about forty years ago at the Anglican Church, KNUST, and from that very day, your warmth and friendliness made me feel like I had known you forever. You’ve always been so compassionate, God-fearing, caring, cheerful, wise, and generous — someone who puts others before herself. Your humility, strength, and faith have been a true inspiration to me and my family. One of my fondest memories of you is your incredible hospitality. No one ever left your home hungry or sad. Your gentle smile and words of encouragement could brighten even the hardest day. I still hold onto one of your favourite sayings, “Be kind, you never knowwho you’re helping.” Those words continue to guide me in my daily life. I’ll never forget how you encouraged me not to give up when things were tough. Your kindness taught me that patience and faith can truly carry us through anything. And, of course, I can’t help but smile when I remember that day at the 12 to 12 Senior Staff Club when you tried to teach us a new dance. We laughed so much as youmixed up the steps — such a beautiful, lighthearted memory. Being around you has always been filled with joy and laughter. Thank you for your kindness — for always being there with a smile, a prayer, or a comforting word. Wishing you joy, health, and many more beautiful years ahead. You are truly loved and celebrated today and always. Mrs. Gladys Asantewa Creppy 50 The Birthday Journal
