A Special Tribute to AuntieMonica onHer 80th Birthday It is with great joy and gratitude that my wife and I celebrate our dear AuntieMonica on this special occasion of her 80th birthday. I have had the privilege of knowing AuntieMonica since my medical school days in the late 1980s, through her devoted nephew and my classmate, Dr Osei Wusu-Ansah. Over the years, what began as a connection through friendship has grown into a deep bond of respect, admiration, and affection. To us, AuntieMonica has become more than a close family friend — she is part of our extended family. As her doctor at NYKONClinic, I have also had the honour of caring for her, and in many ways, she has cared for us too, through her wisdom, warmth, and the inspiration of her life. She has always been kind and supportive to us, and I will always remember her warm smile and generosity. Amoment that touched my life was when she came to visit me inNew Jersey while I was doing my medical residency at EnglewoodHospital. I was truly moved by her thoughtfulness. She also has an absolute sense of humour at all times, which always makes me smile. Three words that best describe her are humble, wise, and generous. If I could thank her for one thing, it would be for being supportive. AuntieMonica, your grace, resilience, and kindness shine through in all you do. You have touched our lives in ways words can scarcely capture. We are deeply grateful for the blessing of your friendship and the joy of walking alongside you through life’s seasons. As youmark this milestone, we pray that God continues to bless you with good health, peace, and abundant happiness. May the love you have so generously shared return to you in overflowing measure. Happy 80th Birthday, AuntieMonica! We love and celebrate you always. Dr and Mrs Kwame Yeboah-Mensah I first met you when youmarriedMrs Amofah’s brother, whom I fondly called Bro Yaw. You were also close friends with my younger sister, Auntie Adwoa Bonsu (Mrs Aidoo), and through these connections, our warm friendship began. Some of my fondest memories are of the Fridays when you and Elaine Owusu, would visit us at home. You always made time for the aged, engaging in long, cheerful conversations before heading home. Your warmth, calm nature, and domestic grace have always touched our hearts. You have been a constant source of wisdom— gently advising and guiding us, especially during our family gatherings and parties. Your love and care for the aged, children, and students alike are qualities we deeply admire. We often smile thinking of your constant chatting and ever-present smile — a reflection of your caring, respectful, and conversational spirit. There has never been a time you offended us; instead, you have always been a source of joy and comfort. We thank you sincerely for the precious time and attention you have devoted to the aged. Your energy, presence, and compassion have inspired us all, especially in how you light up when you see others happy and cheerful. As you celebrate your 80th birthday, our heartfelt prayer is that you, too, will be cared for and surrounded by the same love and joy you have generously given to us and others. May God bless you abundantly, keep you strong, and grant you long life — may you live to be 100! Enjoy celebrating your birthday wherever you are in the world!
