Monica 80 Magazine

Happy, Happy 80th, Auntie Yaa Yaa! “Auntie Yaa Yaa” — that was our special name for her, fromway back before our days together on the KNUST campus. She has always been a bright light: full of humour, warmth, and one of the kindest souls I have ever known. Always ready to lend a helping hand, her generosity has touched somany lives, including mine. It brings me great joy to celebrate this remarkable milestone with her. I pray the Almighty continues to bless her with a long, healthy, and joy-filled life. Here is to 80 wonderful years — andmany more to come! Happy birthday, Auntie Yaa Yaa! Pat Totoe AuntieMonica and I met in 1981 as teachers at the City of Kumasi Preparatory School, Ayigya, Kumasi. Since then, she has been a big sister and a friend tome. I have known her as a strong woman who possesses a high quality of discipline and stands for truth and honesty. Having worked together as a team in the same school, I can say without reservation that AuntieMonica has no problem adapting to changes in situations in her area, so long as those would bring peace and tranquility. By my estimation, she has been an epitome of responsibility, hard work, and dedication ever since. During her youthful days as a school teacher, she loved her work and worked with extra diligence to the benefit of her pupils. AuntieMonica was very hardworking, inspirational, motivational, and was ever ready to impart knowledge into her pupils to the best of her ability. For the years we worked together, I never saw her angry, arguing, or exchanging words with colleagues. AuntieMonica was always patient, polite, affable, and never hurt a fly. Today, on your blessed and glorious 80th birthday, I celebrate you and thank God for your life, and for the joy of knowing you as a big sister and a friend. I wish you the very best on this day and pray that the good Lord will continue to bless you with a ripe age of a hundred years and above, all full of strength and vitality. May the rest of your years be the best of years, full of peace and laughter. In the Good Book it is written: “With long life will I satisfy you and show youMy salvation.” Literally: “Mɛma w’adi nkwa tenten amee na m’ama w’ahunu me nkwagyeɛ.” Psalm/Nnwom91:16 Many, many happy returns, with goodness andmercy, grace and glory, blessings and favour following you and yours all the days of your lives. Amen, Amen, and Amen. Mrs Margaret Asomaning 38 The Birthday Journal
