Monica 80 Magazine

I met AuntieMonica in August 2020 at the Holy Rosary Chaplaincy, KNUST. It was after one of theMasses that she introduced herself to me. That same day, she had prepared a sumptuous meal for us, which I will never forget. NanaHemaa is one of a kind. Her deep motherly care for me is just incredible. She always checks on me and even asks about my mum. Her sense of kindness is greatly appreciated. My favourite memory is the day she introduced herself to me. She asked, “wonimme din?” I responded, “daabi ooo.” Then she continued, “eii saa, Fr Naah nka nkyerɛɛ wo?Me ne Nana Hemaa Baako pɛ.” I smiled, bowed in affirmation, and said, “Nana 1.” She continually asks my sister to take foodstuff to my mother. This act of kindness really moves me to tears. What great love she has. She’s an amazing and peaceful mother. I would like to thank you, NanaHemaa, for being there for me and my family. NanaHemaaMonica, as you reach the incredible milestone of 80 years with grace, wisdom, and love, we celebrate you. Since I met you in 2020, you have embraced me with the kind of love and care only a true mother could offer. In every word of guidance, every prayer spoken, and every quiet act of kindness, you have been a pillar of strength and comfort in my life. You have shown me what it means to love selflessly, to stand tall with dignity, and to lead with a heart full of compassion. Your presence has been a constant reminder that family isn’t only about blood — it’s about connection, spirit, and unconditional love. As you celebrate this special day, may you be surrounded by the same joy and warmth that you have poured into the lives of so many. May your years ahead be filled with good health, laughter, and the deep peace that comes from a life beautifully lived. Cheers to a mother at 80! Rev. Fr. Prince Owusu Sarpong Dear AuntieMonica, You have been a good friend and mentor to many of us in the FST Sisters for years! Your life of selfless service in the church, especially at the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Chaplaincy, continues to inspire and encourage us. Your affable nature and generosity —with both your time and resources — allow you to connect easily with everyone, young and old alike. Your volunteer work is worthy of emulation. Your presence alone has had a positive impact on us, and we are grateful for the example you set. As you celebrate your 80th birthday, we pray that the Almighty blesses you abundantly with long life and good health to continue serving God and your neighbours. May all your prayers and heart desires receive a resounding “AMEN,” and when your time on earth is complete, may the Lord Almighty reward your faithful service with eternal life inHeaven.
