Monica 80 Magazine

NanaMonica, as we affectionately call her, has been our Patron for about seven years now. As a Patron, she has been there for us and supported us immensely. Even when she cannot show up physically, she always says, “I will be praying with you, and I will be with you in spirit.” AuntieMonica is a mother. She represents many values and virtues. For who she is, she is a great example for all of us as members of the group. She advises, she listens, she gives, and she teaches. NanaMonica has always shown up for us. Just to mention an example: during our recent national conference, she contributed a substantial amount to support our activities. She always shares great wisdomwith us whenever we invite her to speak at our meetings. Her contributions are invaluable. As a mother and Patron, her words mean a lot to us. We have sought her counsel in many matters and, time without number, it has been valuable. We pray that this new year of your life brings you joy and beauty — beautiful as your heart; peace and calm as your spirit; and blessings beyond measure. May God continue to strengthen you, keep you strong and healthy, and grant you more fulfilling years ahead. Happy 80th Birthday, NanaMonica. Christian Mothers’ Association (Akan Group) AuntieMonica has been a founding committee member of the KNUSTCatholic Brass Band. Many committee members have come and gone, but she is still with us. She is a mother figure — very calm, patient, and tolerant. She always listens to us before giving her final comment, which soothes the heart and settles matters. Most of the band’s costumes, including the ones we are wearing in the picture, were provided by her. When she returned from the USA and saw that the band had almost collapsed, she quickly worked to reorganise it. On your 80th birthday, we pray that the good and gracious God grants our cherished mother good health and many more years. We love you, Mummy. KNUST Catholic Brass Band 178 The Birthday Journal
