Happy 80thBirthday, Aunty Yaa Yaa! Dear Yaa Yaa, I first met you over thirty years ago when you became a member of our church group. You have always been very friendly and ready to help, not necessarily financially, but in so many meaningful ways. I will never forget your favourite phrase, “Manko a enye” meaning, “It would be improper for me not to show up.” You have touched my life in countless ways, especially during the times you offered to help before I even asked. I also smile when I remember you trying to sing as a soloist, such a funny and light-hearted moment. You are funny, sociable, and always ready to help. Birthdays are special, and when it is the birthday of a septuagenarian or octogenarian, it becomes all the more special. You’re 80? Don’t worry, you’re not old. You’re a classic, like fine wine that just gets better with age. When was the last time you dedicated an entire day to yourself ?Well, your birthday is the ideal time to do that. So, on your 80th birthday, have a great time. By spreading your tremendous love and care, youmake the world a better place. I am honoured to live in it, a place filled with happiness and joy. Thank you for your kindness, love, and support. Thank you for taking the time to help others and for your desire to serve. Here’s to a life well lived, full of wisdom, love, and cherished memories. May this day be a wonderful celebration of the countless special moments you’ve given others and the joy you bring into the world. May you be surrounded by happiness, appreciation of God’s grace, and the love of your family and friends. Cheers to eight amazing decades. Your wisdom, grace, and kindness continue to inspire. Congratulations, AuntyMonica, you’ve officially entered theWORLDOFOCTOGENARIANS! Kakra ❤️ I’ve known AuntieMonica for decades. Back then, I was a Sunday School teacher at USTCatholic Church, and she would often drop off her children for Sunday School play rehearsals. AuntieMonica is our self-appointed Vice President — and the only Nana — of the Our Lady’s Choir at church. But woe betide anyone who forgets to bowwhen greeting her! She’s such a lovely and lively person who always fills the roomwith laughter whenever she’s around. My dear big sister, I thank God for your life. I wish you a truly glorious 80th birthday. May God bless you richly with good health and long life. Mrs. Christie Donkor 140 The Birthday Journal
