I was overjoyed when Sister told me about the plans she and the guys were putting together. I actually squealed with excitement as I imagined the look on your face when this wonderful surprise unfolds this Christmas. It’s easy to describe what youmean to me, Naana, and to the Asare-Adjebeng family —Valea, Phyllis, Linda, and even Paak, who was too young to remember much. You’ve always been a constant source of warmth and affection. No matter howmy day was going, seeing you anywhere on campus or in your home always came with a beautiful smile from a gorgeous lady — one that radiated genuine love and kindness. I will never forget the morning my dad passed. Even in the midst of tears and confusion, your caring spirit shone through. As the early mourners arrived, you immediately but gently “evacuated” us from22ARidge Road and took us into your home before we were “distributed” to other families. That act of love has stayed with me to this day. I knowmy late mumwould have had even more to say — she always admired your unparalleled humour and how you could bring light even on difficult days. You’ve always made life feel a little easier and a lot warmer. Happy 80th Birthday, our beloved AuntieMonica! My siblings and I celebrate your life, your love, and the joy you bring wherever you go. We are truly grateful for the countless ways you’ve touched our lives with your kindness and care. As youmark this special milestone, we wish you continued good health, happiness, and peace. May your day be filled with laughter, love, and the company of family and friends. Here’s to many more beautiful years of love, light, and warmth — fromRidge Road to Akroso and beyond. Naana Adjebeng Biritwum-Nyarko I first met you around 2004 at AuntieMolly’s birthday celebration. I remember how active and helpful you were— serving guests and organizing things with such grace and energy. I admired you from that day. Later, I discovered that you lived next door to my sister and on the same street as other family friends. You were always supportive and available whenever anyone needed you, and that’s how our friendship grew. What stands out most about you is your servant heart. At every event, you’re always helping and serving others with a smile—that’s simply who you are. Since my mother, Mrs. Grace Poku, became unwell, you have faithfully visited her every weekend. I also know you do the same for others who are sick or lonely, and that truly touches my heart. You are supportive, caring, and humble. Thank you for showing so much love to others and for being there when it matters most. As you turn 80, I wish you long life, prosperity, and good health. May God bless you abundantly and give you the strength to continue being the wonderful example you’ve always been to all of us. Maggie Poku The Birthday Journal 139
