AsMrs. Asante, Monica has been part of our family as my beloved oldest brother YawAsante’s wife and a very special aunt to us. Although popularly known as Monica or Yaa Yaa, we exclusively and affectionately call her Aunt Monique! Monica’s commitment and service to God have inspired us over the years. Her joyful singing as a chorister in church and at home has been a blessing to us. We have so many memories of her. We have known her all our lives. She simply overflows with joy and laughter — and in difficult times, she has always been by our side. Her favourite phrase has been, “Enn kyeh” — “it won’t be long or won’t last long.” Her kindness is never-ending. Aunt Monique visitsMa frequently. Recently, someone mentioned seeingMa at the hospital, and by the next morning, she was there to see her! That is our Aunt Monique! And yes, we still laugh about the “porty pour” — “forty-four” —moment! Our inside joke! I met Aunty Yaa Yaa over thirty years ago. Aunty Yaa Yaa is an affable and jovial woman. You will never leave Aunty Yaa Yaa’s house hungry. Honestly, words alone cannot describe Aunty Yaa Yaa’s support. She is generous, caring, and compassionate. Aunty Yaa Yaa, your support during my bereavement meant a lot to me, and I thank you. Wishing you a wonderful year ahead filled with joy, health, and so many more happy memories. I am so grateful for every moment we’ve shared over the years. Happy birthday! Love, Aunty Boatemaa You are our ONE&ONLYAunt Monique baako pɛ, our FUN-FILLEDYaa YaaMonique baako pɛ, and our seyi KUTUUU seyi BAMBAMBAMMrs. Asante baako pɛ!
