She has not changed in our eyes and continues to exude youthful exuberance and elegance. We met AuntieMonica in the 1970s when our parents moved back to Ghana from the United Kingdom. We quickly noticed that Auntie “Yaa Yaa” was our coolest relative by far, and we enjoyed all the moments of fun and laughter that we shared together. She was instrumental in helping us to settle into life in Ghana, and we fondly remember the days when she would pick us up from school and take us to her place to spend time with Chief and the rest of TeamAsante. It was a treat that we always looked forward to, as AuntieMonica would make sure that there was an abundance of good food and ice cream for us to enjoy! Anyone who has spent significant time with Auntie Monica will appreciate that behind the shy exterior lies a woman with a larger-than-life personality and a great sense of humour. She is also an extremely kind person who will do anything to ensure the wellbeing of her nearest and dearest.
