Monica 80 Magazine

I fondly call herMrs. Asante, and over the years, she has become more than just family — she is my favourite Auntie and my greatest support. She is affable, humble, and a go-to person. At the passing of my wife and brothers, she looked at me and said, “Yaw, you still have me. Let’s honour them.” She reminded me that family is indeed a support system, and she has always been the bedrock of ours. I still smile when I remember her saying, “Boamah, hope you’re feeling well in all the places; I can only support with food.” That’s just her — thoughtful, caring, and lighthearted even in serious times. Mrs. Asante always listens with empathy and shows remarkable wisdom during family discussions. She embodies unity, humility, and warmth. As you celebrate this incredible milestone of 80 years, may you be surrounded by all the love, peace, and beauty you’ve shared so freely with others. I thank you for all the love, support, and encouragement. God bless you richly, my dear Auntie. Samuel Boamah Atiemo I first met Auntie Yaa when I was about 8 to 10 years old. She used to spend weekends at our home at North Suntreso Estate. From those early days, she has always stood out as a warm, kind, and dependable woman — someone who is selfless and always ready to help whenever you call on her. One thing she often says, which always makes me smile, is that I look like my father and share his character traits. That simple remark has stayed with me over the years. AuntieMonica’s selflessness and kindness have touched my life in many ways, and through her actions, I’ve learned the true meaning of humility and compassion. I still remember how gracefully she attended my daughter’s wedding — it’s a memory that brings joy each time I think of it. There was also that time I had a confrontation with the pastor who officiated the marriage ceremony. Later, AuntieMonica told me that although I was right, my approach was wrong. That moment of gentle correction taught me an important lesson about patience and wisdom. AuntieMonica is truly wonderful, selfless, and kind. I thank her deeply for her unwavering selflessness and the quiet strength she continues to show in everything she does. As she celebrates this beautiful milestone, I wish her long life, abundant health, and unending peace — in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
