Sophia My husband introduced me to her and her late husband many years ago at their home on the KNUSTCampus, and from that moment, she became far more than a family friend. She became a loving big sister whose wisdom, care, and kindness have touched my life in so many ways. AuntieMonica has always had a beautiful habit of checking up on me and my children, no matter where she is. Even during her visits to the United States, she would make time to call. I’ll never forget her delicious meals and the warm hospitality she extended each time we visited — or the funny parrot she once had that could perfectly mimic my voice! One of my most cherished memories is when she held all three of my children on her lap and performed their traditional naming ceremony. She constantly reminded me of the importance of preparing for the future and encouraged me to build a home of my own for retirement — advice that has stayed with me ever since. At almost 80 years old, she still shows incredible strength and love. I was deeply moved when she travelled all the way fromKumasi to Accra in June 2025 just to attend my daughter’s traditional marriage ceremony. That gesture spoke volumes about the kind of woman she is — loving, cheerful, and God-fearing. My prayer for you, AuntieMonica, is that God continues to bless you with good health, peace, and joy.
