And Tsulu, the baby of the bunch, wraps it all up with heart and cheek. g rowing up, I had two brothers, Jesse (may his soul rest in peace) and Ellis. Ellis would always discipline the younger ones and give us chores, while Jesse would shield us. I remember when Ellis came home on his first vacation from secondary school with new rules. He would send you on an errand and set a time for your return. He taught me how to make a bed and would come in with a ruler to check the straightness of the bedsheet. Ellis had, and still has, an unassuming face, and sometimes you wouldn’t know whether he is joking or serious about an issue. I am always prepared for an April Fool’s prank. One particular incident I remember was when he gave us salty rice water. Apparently, he mistook the table salt for granulated sugar, not realising that our cousin Teiko had playfully switched them as a little joke. He was, and still is, a good cook. He creates his own recipes and gives them names. Once, he prepared groundnut soup, added cooking oil on top to make it more appealing, and gave it a name, although I can’t remember it. He has influenced me, which is also why I ended up in Katanga Hall. Ellis, you have been a role model and someone I can confide in. I love you, and we will always have our plans or discussions, knowing we have five ladies to whom we must explain ourselves. But as they say, two heads are always better than one. Happy Birthday! Enjoy your day. Limitless love and blessings. Arc.
