Dear Grandma, “Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by living a righteous life.” — Proverbs 16:31. Indeed, you have lived a righteous life, and ninety looks amazing on you. You remind us that age is just a number, living each day with strength, resilience, grace, and a joyful spirit that inspires us all. You are living proof that you can still do so much at 90 and enjoy life to the fullest. Your strength and resilience continue to inspire us, and we are so thankful for you. As your grandchildren, each of us has had our own special experiences with you. Whether it was baking and running delivery errands, going through your unforgettable boot camp, chatting on countless WhatsApp calls, enjoying your company during visits, or seeing the pride with which you showed us off at events, every moment was special. We’ll never forget traveling with you to the Giza pyramids in Egypt, or—our collective favorite—sharing in your comforting and nostalgic cooking, always prepared with love. You even plan for our visits weeks in advance, baking cakes and stocking the freezer with meals. Your home is always welcoming, your food irresistible, and your love and discipline constant. Spending time with you always creates lasting memories. We thank God that we can join in celebrating your 90th birthday and that you can do it exactly as you wanted—in your two-inch heels, not in chale wote! Today, we will fill your day with everything you cherish: love, laughter, music, dancing, good food, and most importantly, family. You are a big inspiration to us all, and the lessons you’ve taught us are treasures we will carry forever. We wish you the happiest of birthdays and pray for the richest of life’s blessings—good health, joy, and an abundance of love. As we celebrate 90, we already look forward to 91, 92, and many more years with you. We pray for God’s continued love and protection over your life: “May the Lord bless and keep you, make His face shine on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” And we close with Psalm 71:17–18, which perfectly captures your role in our lives: “Since youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not abandon me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come.” Happy Birthday, Grandma—with all our love. **Your Grandchildren The Birthday Journal 49
